چکیده
In this paper, we investigate the properties of iterative non-injective functions and the security of primitives where they are used. First, we introduce the Collision Probability Spectrum (cps) parameter to quantify how far from a permutation a function is. In particular, we show that the output size decreases linearly with the number of iterations whereas the collision trees grow quadratically. Secondly, we investigate the t-sponge construction and show how certain cps and rate values lead to an improved preimage attack on long messages. As an example, we nd collisions for the gluon64 internal function, approximate its cps, and show an attack that violates the security claims. For instance, if a message ends with a sequence of 1 Mb (respectively 1 Gb) of zeros, then our preimage search takes time 2 (respectively 2) instead of 2.

Multiparticle production and thermalization in high-energy QCD
We argue that multiparticle production in high energy hadron and nuclear collisions can be considered as proceeding through the production of gluons in the background classical field. In this approach we derive the gluon spectrum immediately after the collision and find that at high energies it is parametrically enhanced by ln(1/x) with respect to the quasiclassical result (x is the Bjorken var...
متن کاملModeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions
By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...
متن کاملDecoherence and entropy production in relativistic nuclear collisions
Short thermalization times of less than 1 fm/c for quark and gluon matter have been suggested by recent experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. It has been difficult to justify this rapid thermalization in first-principle calculations based on perturbation theory or the color glass condensate picture. Here, we address the related question of the decoherence of the gluon field, which...

We review recent progress in the study of medium-induced modification of jet fragmentation in high energy nuclear collisions at the SPS and RHIC and present an outlook on jet physics at the LHC. Partonic energy loss is a potentially sensitive tomographic probe of matter produced in high energy nuclear collisions, generating observable modification of the fragmentation patterns of jets (" jet qu...
متن کاملThe Qgp Discovered at Rhic
Three empirical lines of evidence, (PQCD,pQCD,dA), from RHIC have converged and point to the discovery of a strongly coupled Quark Gluon Plasma. The evidence includes (1) bulk collective elliptic flow and (2) jet quenching and mono-jet production, observed in Au+Au collisions at 200 AGeV, and (3) a critical control experiment using D+Au at 200 AGeV. 1. The Theoretical QGP The Standard Model of ...
